Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) has landed the role of Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie, possibly called “Han Solo: A Star Wars Story”.

We don’t know if he’ll shoot first, but he has the job. Alden Ehrenreich will play Han Solo in Disney’s stand-alone Star Wars movie, confirming what Deadline reported exclusively three weeks ago. Sources say the Hail Caesar! star is negotiating to seal the deal.
The film will focus on Han Solo and also feature Chewbacca in their early days as smugglers. The movie will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, who directed “The Lego Movie”. The movie is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018.

Im a big STAR WARS fan. But im thinking that theyre starting to go a bit overkill with all of these spinoffs.
i dont want to see ANYONE besides HARRISON FORD AS HAN SOLO.

Can’t wait to see a story centered on a young Solo. Harrison Ford doesn’t cut it for that anymore.
These “spin-offs” will see MASSIVE attendance & be wonderful for us Star Wars diehards.
I will say that Abrams did a great job with the cast of the new Star Trek movies. I never thought I would buy anyone as Captain Kirk other than William Shatner. So hopefully they will do this too. I like the idea of some spinoff movies but just cautious. Hope we see a good trailer that sells me like Rogue One did.
