As Shanghai Disneyland begins to test many of the park’s new attractions, videos of these new experiences are slowly finding their way to the internet. The following video we discovered (by Matthew Finnemore) features Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure. This impressive new E-Ticket adventure combines simulator technology, impressive audio animatronics, amazing projection effects and more to create something the likes of which we have never seen before. You NEED to see this:
It’s worth noting that this boat system is the same as the one guests will find in the Na’vi River Journey attraction fro Pandora: The World of AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Looks incredible, great visuals and combinations of different technology!
While the video in the ride is impressive, they haven’t learned that the real thrill and love of what Walt Disney did in his attractions was the animatronics, and buildings, (sets), and the visual story. The best fire effects ever created were and still are in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It was talent. Using computer animation in a film, however impressive, we can get at the local movie theater. Just my opinion
So…. Disney is finally catching up to Unversal? Escape from Gringots has done this already….so we actually have seen this before…
Gringots has no animatronics and very weak set pieces. It’s basically a family coaster that has a bunch of screens. I would say this new version of Pirates is way advance compared to Gringots.
I agree. This is far more advanced and emersive than gringots and you don’t have to wear 3D glasses. This attraction is also 8 min long vs. Gringots which a little over 4 min.
But…still the same.
Just wish it was a better video without the peanut gallery comments in the background.
Na’vi river journey ride from animal kingdom will be similar to the shanghai pirates ride?
Does anyone likes better the classic ride? I agree, the technology used on the ride is impressive, but… I don’t know…
That was great. Very awesome use of newer technology. Personally, I prefer the classic versions at DL and WDW. This version lacks the charm of the older versions. I think though rides like this will work well with younger generations because of the technology.
wow, that was incredible. I really do like the classic at Disneyland, but this would be cool to experience as well.
Nice use of technology but wish there were more AA’s in the ride. The one of Jack changing from a skeleton to human looks amazing, wish there would’ve been more of that type of technology opposed to the screens.
I’m puzzled.
Why was this written : “…It’s worth noting that this boat system is the same as the one guests will find in the Na’vi River Journey attraction fro Pandora: The World of AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. …”
??? …….. because, it’s not.
