BREAKING: TRON Lightcycle Run to Get TRON: Ares Inspired Overlay, Nine Inch Nails Soundtrack

At Destination D23 2025, Disney announced that an overlay inspired by the upcoming film, TRON: Ares, is coming to TRON Lightcycle Run at both Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and Shanghai Disneyland.

The overlay will debut at both Magic Kingdom and Shanghai Disneyland this September, in time for the release of the film later this fall.

TRON Lightcycle Run at night, glowing red and blue beneath a futuristic arched canopy, pulses to a Nine Inch Nails soundtrack.

For both attractions, the ride will see red and orange light trails replacing the blue and orange hues of the ride, including on the canopy and lightcycles.

In addition, the sounds of Nine Inch Nails, who provide the score for TRON: Ares, will also be added to the overlay.

The band released the first single for the film, As Alive As You Need Me to Be, earlier this summer.

This overlay will be available for a limited time at Magic Kingdom on September 15, and at Shanghai Disneyland starting September 16.

TRON: Ares, directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Jared Leto, releases in theaters on October 10, 2025. The soundtrack will be released on September 19 via Interscope Records. Check out the trailer below:
