REVIEW: Bacon and Blue Burger Joins the Ranks at Disney Springs’ D-Luxe Burger

Disney Springs undoubtedly won the dining war of 2016, introducing the Disney World to Blaze Pizza, Frontera Cocina, Homecoming, B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co., and of course, D-Luxe Burger (We’re going to pretend that the Daily Poutine doesn’t exist, ok?).

When D-Luxe Burger opened back in May, the chef there informed us that they would occasionally be adding burgers and seasonal milkshakes to the menu. While we have had a few different milkshakes to try out, we finally have a new burger on the menu. Thankfully, nothing from the original menu was removed to add this one, so our original review of the restaurant (which includes every dish, so you should read it if you haven’t) is still good.

So let’s talk about what is new…

Bacon and Blue Burger ($11.99)

This new burger is a “Signature Blend topped with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Bacon, Onion Jam and Bleu Cheese”. I’m not a fan of onion jam or bleu cheese, but they blend well on this and this burger works. I suspect anyone who enjoys bleu cheese will want this and I think they would be quite happy with it. Personally, I would still take the El Diablo, Barbecue Classic, Southern Classic, and Cluck Burger over this one though.

They already have a solid line-up at D-Luxe, and adding this kind of burger certainly only strengthens the existing array. If you haven’t been yet, be sure to make D-Luxe a must for counter service dining in 2017.

  1. I have to seriously disagree. This place is a mess. The food itself is quite ok although not quite a good value. Too expensive for what it is.

The ugly part comes from the whole organization. The thing, as I said at the beginning, is a mess. Cashiers fail to give you the large soda cups when you order them so is up to you to figure out that you can get your own small cup by yourself next to the soda station. They fail to give you the sauces you order for the fries. They give you table identifiers but for small orders it seems they don’t; I saw the poor guy who works bringing the orders trying to find someone who ordered a milkshake for over 5 minutes without success. Table cleaning was spotty. The burgers are impossible to eat: thanks to the way they give you the burgers (placed vertically in a small box) all 3 burgers we ordered had it juices hanging at the bottom of the paper in which the burgers come which in turn created a huge mess once the burgers were placed horizontally on the table. The buns, albeit tasty, are too soft and the whole burger collapses in your hand.

I say save yourself the grief to going to this overpriced joint, you’re better off goin to Blaze Pizza if you want good fast food at DS

    • I agree.Salty, greasy burgers are not my thing. And the cashier who took my order looked like he did not want to be there.

    • Yeah, I’m hard to please. I know I ask for way too much, like that your burger doesn’t disintegrate in your hands.

  2. We were very excited to try this as we were looking for a good burger. We didn’t have a good experience from service to food, but it could have been an off day. I asked for no onions on my burger and when it arrived it was flagged as an allergy burger. When I asked about it, they said it must have been because I asked for no onion. Of course after a couple of bites I realized it was not the same look or taste as the others. After I questioned the staff again, they told me I ordered a gluten free burger. They did bring me another which was better but still didn’t have the flavor that I was looking for. I also the fries were not hot or seasoned well. As I said it may have been an off day and I will give them another chance.

  3. Very Disappointed. My wife had the classic burger and I had the barbecue burger. they both had no taste what so ever. It was the barbecue sauce, which there was very little of., that gave a little flavor to mine. Fries were good and a lot of them. overall, not going back.
