Does anyone else have a Disney DVD collection going? Lately, I have been on a mission to complete my collection of all the Disney animated movies and it’s a beast to track down. Not to mention pricey! Disney movies really hold their value even years after they have been released. Part of this may be due to the Disney Vault. The Disney Vault is where Disney movies disappear to when they want to stop production. It makes the movies in the vault hard to find.

I recently discovered the Disney Movie Club which has made expanding my collection easy and so much cheaper! You know those awesome Disney stickers they send you in the mail and then you just end up recycling the rest of the letter? Next time don’t throw the letter away! They actually have a pretty amazing deals not just amazing stickers.

  • I am a member. After you get the cheap movies at the introduction you are required to purchase I believe 5 movies at full price. They are at least 5$ cheaper on Amazon or at target. DMC also charges 5 dollars in shipping . I have been a member for 5 years and have not purchased a single movie from then since the required 5. May be worth it at. Whining but absolutely not good after. I suggest buying on Amazon.

  • I hate the regular trolls, and I prefer things to stay positive on this site, but WDWNT is better than this. If the same article was posted on WDWmagic or ITM, Tom would blast it on Twitter as shameless affiliate link income generation.

DMC is an overpriced joke. KThor is spot on with the comments above. This is a “deal” to absolutely be missed.

    • You are absolutely right, but I answer to many people who believe we should be doing certain things and trying certain things. I personally agree with your feelings, but the WDWNT audience is not just for us “fanboys” anymore, so we do a little bit of everything for everybody.

Look at it the way I do, “fluff” like this allows us to go to new restaurants and review a full menu or go to an after hours Star Wars event to film new entertainment and meet and greets.

The content I like to produce and you like to consume isn’t going anywhere.

      • Fair enough, and thanks for the honesty and transparency.

I can’t argue with the drive to generate revenue. WDWNT is a business, and I don’t think anyone has a problem with it being run like one.

I think the main reason I felt compelled to reply is that this site has never really jumped the shark (and tends to regularly call out those that do), so this type of click bait headline followed by an obvious affiliate sell felt kind of… strange. And we’ve all seen plenty of small and interesting blogs grow and become useless ad churning “blogs.”

        Thanks again for the reply.

  • This is some of the worst thinly veiled advertising I’ve ever seen.
This site is such a joke.

  • Man I thought great deals like these ended in the 90s! It’s not like Netflix and Hulu have deals to show every new and old Disney movie or give you the first month free and let you quit before paying. It’s also great to buy more plastic right before earth day and then be locked into a contract to buy more but at full price. Can you get me a discount on a DVC timeshare too?

  • Must be getting paid to advertise, it’s not a deal at all unless you plan on buying like 10 movies. They get you trapped to where you have to purchase certain movies as others have said.

  • I agree completely with much of what has been said, so I won’t bother repeating it. Tom, I appreciate your response and your frankness on the subject.

My suggestion going forward would be to somehow indicate on your main homepage and web app that the article in question is an advertisement. I appreciate the disclaimer that you have at the top of the article that there are affiliate links contained within it, but that is too late. There should be something on the main page distinguishing these articles from the rest. All major newspapers do this.

    Thanks for listening.

    • Ads are quite easy to spot. Even native ones. I see no need for a warning and I quite like for Tom to keep doing more restaurant reviews & photo journals for us.

  • Tom, I also suggest you consider a bit more clarity with the affiliate link disclaimer. Telling us that the article may contain an affiliate link doesn’t clarify whether the purpose of the article is primarily an advertising one or if there is an actual news story which happens to have an incidental, relevant affliciate link.
    Again, thanks for listening.
