Our latest photo report brings us to the Magic Kingdom, but not before a quick stop at the Polynesian.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Ads for Copper creek are now being handed out since the location is on sale.
A bamboo barrier was erected at Tambu Lounge to separate it from the waiting area.
This was my first time going through security at a monorail station and I must say, it was wonderful. This is a HUGE improvement over the way things were done before and it was so nice to step off the monorail and into the park with just the scan of a MagicBand.
Welcome to The Magic Kingdom
The tagline on the grammatically correct busses was changed to “When You Wish Upon a Star” from “Charmed to See You”. I think this fits better for the Magic Kingdom vehicles. Many of the other phrases for other destinations changed as well.
Getting artsy with a monorail.
In what has been a point of much debate, the Railroad Station sign was changed and now simply says “Magic Kingdom” as opposed to “The Magic Kingdom”. The population sign was also removed, but in fairness, it hasn’t been updated in over a decade.
The local ducks do not seem to care either way.
The main reason for our latest visit was the annual Magic Kingdom Easter Parade on Saturday and Sunday, which you can watch below:
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 merchandise for sale in the Emporium.
Some of the taller trees around the Hub area have started to be removed for extra viewing space for Happily Ever After.
Yes, we ate at Pecos Bill’s again…
Mostly just to see this duck who refused to use his other leg. Even as people tried to walk past him, he wouldn’t budge.
Work to prepare for new launches in Happily Ever After is taking place up on the rooftops.
Shopping for Her
A new Snow White handbag for sale, $29.95.
There’s also this new reversible tote.
A new-to-me Belle handbag.
These outfits for little girls with tutus seem to be a big deal now. More on those shortly.
I thought that this Cinderella Horse and Carriage playlet was pretty neat.
It even lights up!
Who doesn’t need a backpack with a crown?
Here are the tutus with the matching shirts.
Some other new apparel.
This and That
For the 3 people who drink and like LeFou’s Brew…
The Easter season brings egg-shaped cake pops to the parks.
Some new apparel from the Disney Boutique line.
Slap band s are still cool, right?
A new Alice t-shirt for ladies.
Interestingly enough, there are Star Wars tutus and an entire portion of what was the Princess section of the Emporium is now dedicated to Star Wars.
The new purchase with purchase backpack available resort-wide.
The Humphrey the Bear mug has finally made its way to Florida.
No visit to the Magic Kingdom is complete without a Mission to S’mores…
That and taking all of the purple straws! I’m joking, please don’t do this.
I like Starbucks, but it’s nice not to wait in a long line and I really do enjoy this drink.
Fun fact: it’s the only place in the park that you can get a Cherry Sprite.
We noticed that there were some new speaker covers near the center of the Castle.
They look fine, just noticeably different from what was there before.
I’m not sure what, but the hand straps on the VR devices used in Carousel of Progress changed from black to teal. Maybe to make them more noticeable?
The Robo News still features Stitch’s Great Escape.
The attraction was open last week, but remains only seasonal.
Arribas Bros. had some new character statues I had not seen before, including Oswald.
I love this new Don “Ducky” Williams piece for sale in the Art of Disney, but there was something strange in the background…
It’s a sign from the Happiest Celebration on Earth, which ran from 2005 until 2006…
More curb flattening is happening on Main Street U.S.A. to better accommodate guests in wheelchairs and those with strollers.
It is nice for parade times, but it is weird to have less curbs in an area that supposed to be a real town.
As reported earlier, menu changes have hit the Liberty Tree Tavern.
The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is now the dessert option with the Patriot’s Platter, which is awesome.
For lunch, the pot roast is back and there is now a Boston Cream Pie for dessert.
The alcohol menu has also expanded.
The breakfast waffle has finally made the menu board at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments.
We however stopped in for lunch.
The shores behind Cinderella Castle are being spruced up to better hide the new lighting for Happily Ever After.
To keep guests traffic moving during shows, there are now signs for cast to hold at Great Moments in American History.
Two new Pirates of the Caribbean books are for sale in Caribbean Plaza (both cheaper through Amazon, even with any AP discounts).
The art in the storybook is fantastic!
The Disney Pirates book is massive and covers absolutely anything having to do with Disney and Pirates, a change from the well known Jason Surrell books.
The FastPass+ Kiosk at Jungle Cruise is now labeled with an appropriately themed sign.
At Magic Carpets of Aladdin, guests can now find Aladdin and Jasmine stickers for free.
Farewell Wishes
The Emporium is now selling an entire line of Farewell to Wishes merchandise ahead of the May 11th final performance.
To my surprise, this is a real Tervis and not a knock-off tumbler.
There is also a shirt and an ornament for annual passholders.
Vintage Attraction Poster Phone Cases
D-Tech on Demand at the Tomorrowland Light and Power Co. now has vintage attraction posters for sale as new phone case designs.
They also have the third in the series Dumbo the Elephant phone case, celebrating 45 years of the Magic Kingdom attraction.
I had to have it…
Apparently the cases have changed in the last month or so to the new design with the grips on the sides.
The Dumbo the Flying Elephant 45th anniversary MagicBand is also available.
It’s pretty darn cute.
I’m not sure I can say the same for these new plush…
They have the more generic Disney tags and branding, which I hope will not be a pattern moving forward…
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Work continues on Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe to add more covered seating outside.
There’s still a lot of work to be done.
The restrooms remained closed for expansion and remodeling.
The cool thing to do is to just use any outlet to charge your phone and leave it on a table that could be used for eating.
Mousecellaneous
The Tangled lantern photo op continues to be popular with guests every evening.
The line went all the way down to the Haunted Mansion.
You may want to start getting in those final viewings of Wishes as there’s only a few weeks left (if you happen to be visiting before then, or are a local).
I like Dole Whips just fine, but they are missing something…
OH YEAH, IT’S TAJIN TIME!
I brought an extra packet home from Disneyland just so I could have it in Florida. Now I need to order some to carry with me to the park…
Goodnight Magic Kingdom.
Wonderful assortment of photos, thank you for taking us all to Disney World for a few minutes! I’m always up for some Humphrey merchandise. Wish they had a t-shirt of him picking up trash with his buddies!
Feel free to trade me a Wishes pass holder shirt for anything from Paris in 2 weeks *cough* *cough*
Thanks, Tom. I wish the drink menu and desserts had been updated at Liberty Tree Tavern before our December trip last year. We would have loved to try the ooey gooey cake rather than the bread pudding that came standard with the feast. And my sparkling wine (I think it was a moscato) wasn’t good until the server made it better with some Sprite added (and then I think I got the drink for free in the end, without asking). The Dumbo stuff and the new ladies’ shirts are very nice. Has anyone tried the pretzel dog at Sleepy Hollow and is it any good?
Are you sure you grabbed enough guacamole and cheese from the fixins bar?
Thanks Tom for the great pictures and notes. I love the idea of curbs on main street being flattened, anybody who has pushed a wheelchair or stroller through this busy area, it’s not easy. Thanks Disney
Lot of pictures. Thanks.
Just has to point out that “busses” is grammatically correct. Then goes on to make multiple spelling errors.
Swing and a miss, Tom.
Make that 4 people who like LeFou’s Brew! It is a must-buy for my family! Yum!
Ma’am, please remain calm. Tell us where Gaston is holding your family hostage. You don’t have to keep pretending lick that horse slobber is a real drink. We can help you and bring back your family quickly and safely. If we hurry we can save them before he makes them drink anymore of that “brew”.
I thought the phone’s on the table were left so anyone could use/grab them. It’s a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
Thank you for the “trip” to Disney! So nice of you to take the time for photos and to share them! You made my day!
Will they still be selling wishes passholder ornaments at the end of may?!
You can make that eight people who love Lafou’s brew!
You are a sad strange little man.
Sooo, chicken and waffle sandwich is back?!? Best thing I have seen all day! Can’t wait to go in September!
Great review.
