The former Portobello Country Italian Trattoria at Disney Springs will become Terralina Crafted Italian when it re-opens this Fall. James Beard Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano returns from Portobello to curate the new menu, and Chef Justin Plank will be back to run the kitchen.

A multi-million- dollar makeover is transforming the space in The Landing on the shores of Lake Buena Vista. Inspired by the design and lifestyle of Italy’s Lake District, the new restaurant will be reminiscent of an Italian home, with an open kitchen, dining rooms with eclectic décor and a new veranda bar outside the main entrance.

Chef Mantuano’s authentic Italian cuisine (much of it infused with his signature olive oil imported directly from Italy) will include artisanal pizzas and fresh vegetable dishes fired up in a wood-burning oven. Two new signatures – mussels and a grilled pork chop – will be on the menu, along with favorites from Portobello such as the antipasti platter and signature pastas. “Focusing on the hearth of the kitchen dishes will embody the passion and flare of the flames,” said Mantuano.

“We are excited to have created Terralina Crafted Italian with a vision to deliver authentic food, hospitality and every last detail as part of a memorable guest experience,” said Andy Lansing, president and CEO of Levy Restaurants, who owns the restaurant.

Terralina will be open for lunch and dinner. An opening date has yet to be announced.

  • Oh joy, another Italian restaurant. If I counted properly there will be 9 on property (including Swan). Still miffed they got rid of Kouzzina and replaced that with Italian. At least this is a push not an addition.

  • Portabella was a favorite of ours, hoping new restaurant is just as good, please keep the mushroom appetizer on the menu!!!!! D in fla

  • Disney needs “good” Italian.
IMHO, the only good Italian is at Epcot, and I don’t think Tutto Italia or Via Napoli compare to Alfredo’s.

Been to Trattoria Al Forno twice and left disappointed twice.
I’ve had to send back pasta the last two times at Il Mulio. Came out all clumped together, like it has been sitting.

Never ate at Portabello Yacht Club, so I can’t comment.

The Springs has really tried to step up their food game… other than Planet Hollywood!!!!!!!
I’m hopeful that the new “crafted” or “re-imagined” or whatever buzz word Disney wants to insert, Italian restaurant at the Springs works out..

  • Chef Tony Ragu is 1/8th Italian, cooking authentic food from his hometown, Toledo, OH. After his major success at Tony’s Town Square, he decided to take his Cast Connection freezer items and OBT Winn-Dixie ingredients with him to Disney Springs, where he will make what people consider “italian food.” Will it be good? Who knows? Stay tuned as Tony opens up his new Earth-style restaurant, Terralina Crafted Italian, using the freshest dirt and grass along the shoreline of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Terralina Crafted Italian: It’s Not Flavortown, but it’s not Bus Stop Pizza either.
