REVIEW: Another Look at Cafe Orleans’ New Menu at Disneyland Park

As Tom previously mentioned in his post a few months back, Café Orleans recently revamped their menu. This isn’t one of my regular restaurants, but upon seeing the new food items I thought I’d give it a try. Café Orleans is one of the locations you can dine at in New Orleans Square at Disneyland.

Pommes Frites – $7.00

The few times I have eaten at Café Orleans I was sure to start off with the pommes frites. For those who may need a translation, they’re just French fries. Not just any fries though, they’re tossed with parmesan, garlic and parsley served with a Cajun spice remoulade (ask for more they don’t give you enough!).

Mint Julep – $5.00

They don’t tell you this on the menu, but the mint julep actually costs more than a regular fountain drink, even though they’re all grouped together. If you love mint juleps, then this is the place to get them. Why? Because there are free refills of course!

Lobster Cobb Salad – $23.00

If you’re not a fan of cold lobster this is not the dish for you. This salad had some great flavors, but it’s not my favorite salad in the park. This salad includes mixed greens, roasted corn, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, bacon, and lobster with an avocado vinaigrette.

Overall

I also tried the steak and potatoes and do agree with Tom, this is a great dish. Not the best steak, but the sides and sauce really pull the dish together.

I did not save enough room for dessert, but a definite must get dessert is the Mickey-shaped beignets! This is an iconic Disney treat that you have to try at least once. If beignets aren’t your thing then there’s bread pudding, coconut cake, and specialty hot beverages.

Overall, this is a great restaurant for first-time visitors, regular attendees, and passholders alike. Food is delicious, service is great, and the view (if you’re outside) is perfect for people watching. Check out Café Orleans on your next visit!
