A few weeks ago, we told you that Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be at limited capacity through May to accommodate the construction of the ride’s new entrance in Toy Story Land. Because of the new construction, they will also not be offering FastPass reservations for the ride in April and May 2018.
FastPass reservations will not be available from April 9th through May 7th 2018 according to cast members. This is likely when the ride will be reduced in capacity to just one track. The standby line will be the only way to gain admittance to the attraction during this period.
Do you think the Toy Story Land will do any DVC previews before the official opening?
Just to confirm that you believe the ride will stay open for the duration of this time? It’s just that the earlier rumors all had the ride closing completely at some point (even if it was just for a few days), so even though there’s no Fastpasses and much reduced capacity, this news sounds slightly better to me.

I was at Studios on feb 2nd and went straight to TSM. It was 8:50am and the stand by line was a 45 min wait. Why don’t they expand this ride since everyone loves it? Even when all three tracks are operating this ride has a long wait.

They need a fourth track if not more.
I disagree. Once they get Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land going, and they get the replacement for the Great Movie Ride open, the demand for this ride will drop back to normal. Before all the closings, the 3rd track had cut the wait times to 20-30 min except at the absolute busiest times. The big problem right now is that there really isn’t much else to do in that park, especially if you don’t care for/can’t do thrill rides.
Gets a 45 minute rate because there are only 4 rides open right now at DHS. 1 if you are under 40 inches
I don’t know if the stand-by line will ever be under 40 mins again. Starting this summer, Studios will be packed for the next 5 years.
Any word on an opening date for Toy Story Land?
Yes but the entire internet just chose to not to tell you. It’s true, everyone knows but you and we have no plans of telling you anytime soon, Jennifer.
We just tried to get FP for the first half of June (at 60 day mark) and still no Toy Story Mania FPs!
Does anyone have a guess as to whether I should keep checking back in the next 60 days (for possible FP for June coming out later on once they know when we can get to the new entrance) or just give up and plan to stand in line for bit when we go?
