The first Carnivale of Stars has begun in Hong Kong Disneyland. This Spring and Summer event will include a lot new entertainment around the resort. The new line up for the season includes We Love Mickey projection show, the Karibuni Marketplace area in Adventureland, Moana: A Homecoming Celebration stage show and the Disney Friends Springtime Processional. The Carnivale of Stars runs through June 20th.
We Love Mickey
While the castle in Hong Kong is undergoing a major upgrade (read about it here), a new nighttime show will come to Main Street USA. Minnie Mouse is throwing a surprise party for Mickey. Projections, similar to those from the Disneyland Forever fireworks, will showcase Mickey’s most historic animation moments. Eventually, Mickey will make his entrance in the grand finale of the show.
Disney Friends Springtime Processional
30 Disney characters and 50 dancers will take part in this afternoon cavalcade. They will ride through the park on a flower covered train singing and dancing to a host of spring songs. Duffy, Shellie May, Gelatoni and Stella Lou will debut their new spring outfits. They will be joined by characters from Zootopia, Alice in Wonderland, Winnie the Pooh and more.
Moana: A Homecoming Celebration
The first attraction to open for the multi year expansion will be Moana: A Homecoming Celebration. The stage show will retell Moana’s adventure from the movie. In May, the new show will open in a new outdoor theatre in Adventureland.
Karibuni Marketplace
A new area in Adventureland will open on March 30 beside the Theatre in the Wild. This new section will immerse guests into the culture of Africa. Merchandise, snacks and games will be available in the market. Carl & Russell from Up, Baloo & Louie from Jungle Book, Aladdin & Jasemine and Lilo & Stitch will be around for meet ‘n’ greets.
The beloved Disney character egg hunt is back! Uncover close to 100 eggs scattered throughout the Park and Resort hotels. They’ll be decorated like Disney friends, Marvel characters, Super Heroes and more!
And don’t forget the merchandise! There will be more than 70 new items, ranging from plush toys, jewelry and apparel. There will be plenty of merchandise for you to take home including, Disney Springtime Garden collection, Easter Bunny themed Duffy and Friends collectibles, egg-shaped characters and Tsum Tsum!
The fun doesn’t stop on June 20 when Carnivale of Stars is over. Running from June 21 through September 2, the Water Play Street Party will bring Pixar characters to Hong Kong Disneyland.
