King Triton’s Carousel of the Sea closed on March 5th with still no announcement of a replacement, but Disney has now confirmed that a Toy Story carousel will replace the opening day Disney California Adventure attraction for PIXAR Pier.
Jessie’s Critter Carousel will inhabit the Toy Story neighborhood of PIXAR Pier, located just steps away from Toy Story Mania. The carousel horses will instead be critters who appeared in the “Woody’s Round-Up” TV show seen in Toy Story 2.
Disney has not announced if this ride will open with PIXAR Pier on June 23rd, but we certainly hope it will be ready.
Jessie’s Critter Carousel belongs at DHS’ Toy Story Land too. The only other Disney theme park in Orlando that has a carousel is the Magic Kingdom. Disneyland Resort in Anaheim has more carousels than Disney World in Orlando. What are they thinking. Toy Story Land also lack attractions. Only 2 additional attractions. That’s it!!! What a missed opportunity. DHS still doesn’t have enough attractions to be considered a full day park.
They would have to change the name to “outdoor queue land”.. and nobody wants that.
