Last week, we gave you a look at the view from inside of the Magic Kingdom at the ongoing construction of the TRON Lightcycle Power Run attraction in Tomorrowland. Some of you stated that it was hard to see the work from this vantage and some even asked why we bothered to post such a thing. Well, we decided to get an unobstructed view from outside of the park that doesn’t affect traffic…
Please pardon the quality of the photos as they were taken from quite a distance. If you look to the north of Space Mountain, you will see a large, cleared patch of land and a water barrier.
Here we see that the scope of the project is quite large, even seemingly dwarfing Space Mountain next door (which is a massive building by the way). If you refer to the permits we posted a while back, you can see exactly how the TRON ride will fit in this plot.
We also have a video flyover of the park to share with you (please click here to see the video if it is not showing up below):
TRON Lightcycle Power Run is expected to open for the Magic Kingdom’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
Are they incorporating the water/pond with the ride?
Nope.
Thank so much for the video and photos !! I am so excited to see this area transform but just the tree clearing is a pretty big deal…..I wonder if they are hesitating to do that last patch closest to Space Mountain. I’m sure it’s a pretty drastic difference now when driving down the road….from trees to nothing….
I am wondering how they are going to re-do the water canals that go around Space Mountain and if they will leave the trees to the North of the area and next to the railroad by Fantasyland.
Should I be concerned about how this might impact the Peoplemover? Because I’d rather have that than all the Trons.
