PHOTO REPORT: Up-Close With Riviera Resort Construction Adjacent to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

We stopped by what’s left of Caribbean Beach to get updated construction pictures of the adjacent Riviera Resort construction. The building has yet to top out, but the concept art shows that this will be as tall as the building gets for guest rooms. There will be an extended roof portion in the middle for the rooftop restaurant, which is not yet built.

Here’s the concept art for the front of the building, just to give you an idea of what the end result will look like

Facing the back of the resort gives you an impression of just how big this new Disney Vacation Club property will be. There’s a large courtyard that looks perfect for a gigantic pool.

Currently the tower is at 8 floors of guest rooms.

The west side of the resort is further behind than the east side.

Beige rocks are piled alongside the waterfront alluding to the installation of a beach, similar to those at Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

Meanwhile, drilling for Skyliner supports has started near Buena Vista Drive and in the middle of the Aruba section.
