The nearly ubiquitous film composer, snagged a Grammy for this song from the film Up. It currently plays on the Disneyland as well as the Magic Kingdom‘s Main Street music loop. I’m listening to it right now. Really!
I Have But One Heart

A nice background tune for a leisurely Italian meal in Town Square. If I remember the movie correctly, there’s a pistol in the Men’s Public toilet tank if you need it. The Godfather. Not Lady and the Tramp.

America’s Great National Pastime
Recording: America’s Great National Pastime
Artist: The Byrds
Album: Original Singles 1965-1971
The song describes Casey’s Corner fairly accurately. As for the band: It did function as a revolving door, ejecting some members to pop music heights. But The Byrds were truly America’s Band.

Herb Albert was the Chief Hombre in The Tijuana Brass. His backing band was a Wrecking Crew. He put the A in A&M Records and is a major “endowager” for music programs at the University of Southern California and Cal Arts. Still Flying.

Show Notes Exclusive: Anthropological Mis-Direction
Bob Hope and Walt Disney rarely if ever worked together. Sure, they crossed paths along the way. Charity functions, the Oscars, etc. Nothing major.
But Hope became a fixture at the Walt Disney Company after Walt’s passing. Television Specials. The Opening of The Disney MGM Studios Theme Park, etc. Hope was The Walt Disney Company’s living link to Hollywood’s Golden Age.
This Adventureland kiosk pays tribute to Ol’ Ski Nose and one of his formula comedies.

The Jungle Line (featuring Leonard Cohen)
Recording: The Jungle Line
Artist: Herbie Hancock
Album: River – The Joni Letters
Rousseau walks on trumpet paths. Safaris to the heart of all that jazz

Recording: Pinocchio Medley
Artist: Ken Nordine, Bill Frisell/Ringo Starr with Herb Albert
Album: Stay Awake
This Hal Willner produced album is lively, nuanced, and sublime. It truly started the Disney cover songs by unexpected artists idea. But, like a fine sprit, it should be used sparingly, for special occasions. It can surely be said, that for the show’s first trip to Walt Disney World we did get out the good stuff. Herb Albert returns for a trumpet solo… with Ringo!
A dystopian version of the theme from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is still as sweet.
