REVIEW: D-Luxe Burger Adds Several New ‘Secret Menu’ Options at Disney Springs

D-Luxe Burger is a Disney owned and operated quick service location at Disney Springs. With great views of the ‘Springs and burgers to boot, this location has become a favorite among the locals and tourists alike. Last time we reviewed D-Luxe Burger , the amazing Donut-Breaded Chicken Nuggets were brand new. Now there’s new items, and some only available through a secret menu. Let’s dig in!

Here’s the secret menu listed on Mobile Order on the MyDisneyExperience app. You can also ask for these items when ordering at the register, but they’re not openly advertised.

New items this time around include the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Cheese, BLT, Onion Rings, and a Strawberry Shortcake Gelato Shake. More importantly, however, is the current dipping sauce situation. Instead of having single cups of the sauces ready to be handed out, there’s a line-up of the six sauces on the condiments station. It’s wonderful being able to help yourself to these amazing sauces instead of begging for a second cup.

On to the food!

BLT Sandwich – Served with French Fries – $10.49

While the sandwich may not have wowed anyone, we feel there’s some value here. The BLT comes with a regular side of fries, which run $4.99 alone, making this a $5.50 sandwich. It’s a stack of the house D-Luxe bacon, fresh tomatoes, and crisp lettuce on a basic buttered and toasted white bread. Nothing crazy or special, but a relatively cheap way to get a sandwich and fries without breaking the bank.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich – Served with French Fries – $9.99

Again, served with fries, making the grilled cheese just $5 in perspective. Anyway, it’s literally a grilled cheese. One cheese, grilled between two pieces of buttered white bread. It’s nothing spectacular, but will certainly appease the pickier eaters in your family.

Buffalo Chicken Sandwich – Fried Chicken Breast, Blue Cheese Crumble, Buffalo Sauce, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato – $10.99

This sandwich was enormous and really good. There’s a gigantic chicken breast that’s well breaded and cooked sitting on top of the standard D-Luxe bun. On top is a large slice of bacon, blue cheese crumbles, and a buffalo ranch sauce. While not overly spicy, there was the flavor of a buffalo sauce present. This didn’t overwhelm the entire sandwich, which is a good thing, as it let the chicken and toppings each have their moment to shine. Although currently considered a seasonal offering, we anticipate the chicken breast sandwich to stick around D-Luxe, but perhaps the presentation changed-up every few months.

Onion Rings – Side of Battered and Deep Fried Onion Rings – $7.49

These are well-battered and cooked to give a nice crisp to each onion ring. There’s more than enough to share between two or more people. We don’t feel that the price tag justifies the amount, however, when Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom has a similar portion for $4.49. However, these are much better than the theme park quality onion rings and really do feel like something special. The Barbecue Burger on the basic D-Luxe menu has one of these large onion rings sitting atop the burger, which makes us question why the location didn’t open with onion rings as a side item. Regardless, they’re tasty and may be worth your time if you’re sick of french fries.

Strawberry Shortcake Gelato Shake – Vanilla Gelato blended with Milk, Toasted Marshmallow, crushed Graham Cracker and Strawberry Sauce topped with Whipped Cream and Maraschino Cherry – $7.50

This shake tasted like a mix of their cake batter shake and strawberry shake, which is wonderful. There’s a great strawberry flavor with vanilla and marshmallow in the thick mixture making each sip taste like a strawberry shortcake. Every now and then, we get one of these specialty items that doesn’t taste like the description, but this one delivers and tastes better than we imagined.
