The Plaza Restaurant is located in Magic Kingdom just off the hub, next to Plaza Ice Cream, going towards Tomorrowland Terrace. The Plaza us currently offering a special. It’s a butterscotch bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream. So, how is it?
Specialty Butterscotch Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream – $9.00
My suspicion is that the Plaza has figured out a way to use bread it is otherwise going to throw away by making this dish. Sadly, I’m willing to let them slide on this because it is rather good.
If you like butterscotch, you will not be disappointed by this skillet of sweetness. This gives the famous bread pudding from Ohana at the Polynesian Resort a run for its money, maybe coming up a little short or exceeding those expectations depending on which syrupy flavoring you prefer (butterscotch or caramel). Either way, I wouldn’t go to The Plaza Restaurant and not order this. If I had to be critical, I would say it is a little one note in the flavor, but I don’t think that is uncommon with bread pudding.
It is also quite large. The two of us were not able to finish more than half of it and I suspect you will need 3-4 guests to defeat this (after all eating entrees at least).
