Although the Tokyo Disney Resort is celebrating its 35th anniversary during the Happiest Celebration, a famous Disney duck invites himself for Donald’s Happy Birthday to Me! In this new season, starting in Tokyo Disneyland on June 7th, Donald Duck’s birthday will be celebrated with new merchandise, special food and drinks, and much more. The party lasts for one month, ending on July 7th.
Donald Duck made his debut in the cartoon The Wise Little Hen, on June 9, 1934. He is well known for losing his temper in many more cartoons and comics, but definitely is a family man. He raises his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, explores the world with his uncle Scrooge McDuck, and is madly in love with Daisy Duck.
There will be a special experience program in Tokyo Disneyland as well as in Tokyo DisneySea, that includes a button, stickers, flags, and some sort of scavenger hunt. Guests will also be able to send a birthday card to Donald.
To celebrate, Donald will also be decorating his own ship at Toontown (check the concept art above), Camp Woodchuck, and the Miguel El Dorado Cantina in Tokyo DisneySea. In some restaurants there will be additional meals on the menus, and guests can buy exclusive drinks and popcorn buckets.
And what is a celebration without gifts? Some new merchandise will soon appear in the parks, such as the pin and plush badge below.
Also, the hotels are full of festivities! In the Disneyland Hotel and the Disney Ambassador Hotel there will be special gifts and the possibility to join a special program. In the Ambassador Hotel there is the option to book the Donald Duck Room during the season. These two hotels, and Tokyo DisneySea hotel MiraCosta, will serve special non-alcoholic cocktails for the occasion.
Last but not least, Donald will be appearing in some special costumes, so you can make a special photo with him. This is a very nice way to remember his birthday in 2018. See Donald in his Woodchuck outfit below!
