This year the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror celebrates its 10th anniversary in Disneyland Paris. Today Disneyland Paris released a half hour documentary showcasing the history, design, details and secrets of this iconic attraction. Most of the video is in French but it does have English subtitles. Click here to watch the video.
The video is hosted by Mathias Dugoujon who was a cast member at the Tower of Terror when it opened. He is joined by a whole host of guests throughout the video including Laurent Cayuela, a show writer for Imagineering creative Paris, Bjorn Heerwagen, senior show designer and production manager at Euro Disney Imagineering and Aslam Amlani, the project director for the Tower Of Terror in Paris. Amlai also worked on the Tower of Terror in California.
Fans of the infamous ride will enjoy getting a look behind the scenes at the operations of the elevators inside the machine room, and some amazing photos and videos from the construction of the tower. We join Marie Angele as she prepares to open the ride in the morning. She takes us inside the control room and checks to ensure that all effects are operating normally. Thiery Magne is interviewed, who led the opening ceremony of the attraction back on April 5 2008, which was the first use of projection mapping in a Disney park. We are also introduced to bellhop cast members that worked at the Tower of Terror on its opening day. They share some of their favourite hidden details from the ride.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror was also the centre of attention at the first AP Night party exclusively for Infinity annual pass holders in Disneyland Paris. Just a few months ago, rumours were circulating about a refurbishment of the attraction to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! That plan seems to have been put on hold after the announcement of the major re-imagining of Walt Disney Studios Park, and so it seems the Tower of Terror will survive for the foreseeable future.

This documentary honouring the 10th Anniversary of the Tower of Terror is a must watch for and Twilight Zone or Disney Parks fan alike. Even enthusiasts of the American version will discover interesting details that they never knew before.
