Kathleen Kennedy And Lucasfilm Congratulate Marvel Studios And “Avengers: Infinity War” For Breaking “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Biggest Box Office Opening In History

Kathleen Kennedy and the people at Lucasfilm have graciously passed the baton, on in this case light-saber, to the new king of the box office, “Avengers: Infinity War” for breaking the historic opening box office weekend record previously held by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

Erik Davis, the managing editor at Fandango, revealed the image below showing Rey passing her light-saber to Iron Man. Davis explained that Kathleen Kennedy is continuing the tradition that began between George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, who sent letters to each other congratulating each other on breaking their previous record.
