Friday was May the 4th, better known as Star Wars Day. Disneyland Paris welcomed some special guests and organised special activities in Discoveryland to celebrate a galaxy far, far away. Discoveryland is the European version of Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland, more focused on how the visionaries of the past saw the future. George Lucas is one of them and his imagination can be found in Star Tours: The Adventures Continue and Hyperspace Mountain. There is also a permanent meet-and-greet location for an encounter with Darth Vader.
On Star Wars day, guests were encouraged to dress up for this special occasion, which some of them definitely did. Dressed up, people could meet the characters Chewbacca and the droid R2-D2. ED92 has some moving imagery of this famous droid:

During the day, there was a series of conferences in the Discoveryland Theatre (the theater that mysteriously closed two months ago). Hosted by French Star Wars specialist Patrice Girod, there were quizzes with prices, and special never-before-seen footage of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Guests received a button when attending.
And what is an event in a Disney park without merchandise? On the Instagram page of Disneyland Paris, we spotted a new “I love you”, “I know” pin set, and some new mugs and backpacks themed to the new Solo film.
ED92 has more details of the mug:
