The Three Caballeros are about to hit Duckberg! The crew of “DuckTales” are about to make room for some of Donald Duck’s old avian friends, José Carioca and Panchito, as the Caballeros make their debut on the remake of the beloved Disney animated series sometime in season two.
“DuckTales” producers Matt Youngberg and Francisco Angones revealed the news to a packed audience at the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday. Bernardo de Paula will voice José, while Arturo del Puerto will voice Panchito. Artwork of the Caballeros in the show’s artistic style was released by Entertainment Weekly.
The news comes not long after fans were made aware of a full “Three Caballeros” animated series, available only on Disney’s streaming service in the Philippines.
There’s no word yet on whether singing and sambaing will be involved, or whether “¡Ay Caramba!” will be shouted.
And if that weren’t enough, superstar and Marvel’s War Machine himself, Don Cheadle, will voice Donald Duck in the first season’s finale as Donald’s voice becomes far more coherent.
Cheadle said in a statement: “It’s an awesome opportunity because there are only so many roles that you look forward to playing as an actor. You’ve got to do your homework and bring your A-game when you’re trying to voice Donald Duck.”
The show’s season finale airs August 18th on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW.
