Beaches & Cream is a table service restaurant located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Well, in the middle of Yacht Club and Beach Club, more on the Beach Club side though. Technically both resorts own the restaurant, but then again both resorts are technically one resort, but we’ll stop there. Anyway, Beaches & Cream is themed to the bygone era of beach-side soda shops where you can get classic Americana food (including loaded fries), soda pop, and of course… ice cream (as well as alcoholic milkshakes and floats)! But mama says I need to finish all my carrots if I want to have dessert (and I DO want to have dessert), so we had to have some dinner before we could get to the amazing ice cream creations. Let’s dig in!
Tuna, Chicken, or Egg Salad – Choice of House-made Salad served on a Croissant with Lettuce and Tomato – $15.00
We opted for egg salad because hey, we’re gonna go as American as possible. Fortunately the salad was quite fresh and worked well with the buttery croissant below. A little difficult to pick-up and eat, this is better advertised as an open-faced sandwich. Regardless it’s a good, solid option and not typically something you’d find elsewhere at Walt Disney World.
Turkey Club Sandwich – with Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, and Mayonnaise on Toasted White Bread – $15.00
This sandwich was piled rather high with thick-sliced turkey and lots of bacon. That’s a good thing because the turkey was flavorful and tender. The tomato doesn’t stretch the entire size of the bread, as is the issue with most tomatoes, but they made sure the lettuce and mayonnaise did so that’s a huge positive. For the price you can’t go wrong either way here.
And now, for Dessert…
Fudge Mud Slide – A gooey, chewy Brownie covered with Hot Fudge, Three-scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, Oreo Cookies, and Whipped Cream topped with Chocolate Syrup and a Cherry – $10.00
Ohhh there’s a brownie down in there, somewhere beneath the pile of ice cream and whipped cream. There’s a lot going on here but it comes out as an average chocolate versus vanilla sundae that everyone will love. We certainly did.
No Way Jose – A Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge delight featuring Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry – $9.50
A little more complex than the mud slide, we’re starting into peanut butter territory here. Chocolate ice cream also joins the mix with vanilla and then there’s chocolate morsels on top with whipped cream and hot fudge, along with POUNDS of peanut butter. It’s heavenly and one of our favorite desserts in all of Walt Disney World.
Bring back the Cuban Sandwich made with pork belly from a few years ago! It was simply the best Cuban I have ever had.
