The Golden Horseshoe recently added Mini Ice Cream Sandwiches to their menu!
This treat is made to order comes with two mini sandwiches, making it perfect for sharing (or not). Vanilla ice cream is sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies and drizzled with your choice of chocolate or caramel sauce. We, of course, chose one of each.
The Mini Ice Cream Sandwiches are good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The cookies taste like your standard chocolate chip cookies that you can buy at the grocery store and bake at home. The ratio of ice cream to cookie leaned towards too much ice cream, making them quite messy to eat, with ice cream spilling out everywhere. The sauce adds an extra little flavor to the ice cream sandwiches, but nothing too impressive, and it makes them that much messier. It took a moment to figure out how to even pick them up without getting debris all over the place.
The Mini Ice Cream Sandwiches are an enjoyable summer treat, but a messy one. If you are looking to avoid the mess I’d go with the House-made Chocolate-Chunk Cookie Sundae instead.
Mini Ice Cream Sandwiches sell for $6.49 (not a bad price) and Disneyland Annual Pass discounts apply.
