In the earnings call this afternoon, Disney CEO Bob Iger stated that Disney’s new streaming service will debut in late 2019. This service will rival Netflix, though Iger has said in the past that it will cost “significantly less” than Netflix.

It was also confirmed that there will be original shows created for the platform, including the much anticipated Star Wars live-action series. Also, tv show spinoffs for Lady and The Tramp, Monsters Inc., and High School Musical.

Disney is producing nine different movies for the streaming service with budgets ranging from $20 to $60 million. Titles include:

  • Remakes: Lady and the Tramp, The Sword in the Stone (Live Action), and Three Men and a Baby (Live Action)
  • Original Content: Togo, Noelle, Magic Camp, and Timmy Failure
  • Book Adaptations: The Paper Magician, Stargirl, and Don Quixote
