REVIEW: New Grub Wanders Into Nomad Lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Nomad Lounge is a bar located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This lounge has become very popular in recent times for being right next to Tiffins and the main entryway into Pandora: The World of AVATAR. We’ve long been fans of Nomad Lounge for their unique, heavy cocktails and delicious food. They’ve changed the menu frequently since opening, with the most recent change coming just last fall. This time Nomad Lounge is trying their hand at a few more bar-esque favorites.

Impossible Burger Sliders – Chipotle Aioli, Yucca Fries – $15.00

These may or may not be available during your visit. We saw them for a short-lived time at Nomad Lounge and across the park for the 20th anniversary. If you do happen to see the Impossible Burger around, it’s a full vegan burger (literally the burger patty) that “bleeds”. Yeah, and it tastes like a real meat burger too. It’s quite different and good, very unique. The yucca fries are particularly enjoyable as well.

Tuna Poke Bowl – Seaweed Salad, Edamame, Chili-Mango – $14.00

Beneath the mango and edamame, there’s plenty of tuna down there. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasted that way, exactly what we expect from Nomad Lounge and connecting Tiffins kitchen. Honestly, it’s a light, refreshing, and good tasting dish that’s sure to re-energize and keep you going through your day at Animal Kingdom.

Truffle Poutine – Truffle Tremor Cheese, Fries, Crispy Onions, Black Truffle Salt – $12.00

What this dish lacks in portion it makes up for in flavor. There’s a lot going on here and it fits perfectly into the eclectic atmosphere of Nomad Lounge. The Truffle Tremor Cheese doesn’t look appealing, but it tastes fantastic when mixed with the crispy fries. There are a few large fried onions on top for an added crisp and a bit of black truffle salt on top to keep things fragrant. Overall it’s a really unique and flavorful option, albeit the price tag a bit high (but truffles, especially black truffles, aren’t cheap).
