It’s been a week since we first brought you images of construction projects happening in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom. Within that week there’s been significant progress on the demolition of the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor spaceship facade. This piece was installed in 1994 with the new Tomorrowland design and has been a staple of the ‘Tomorrowland Convention Center’ side of the land since. To alleviate guest flow concerns, well ahead of the upcoming TRON roller coaster, the gigantic metal structure has been removed.

A very different approach to Tomorrowland.

Walls are still up around the area.

There’s no formal signage on this stretch for Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor now, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of sign is installed.

Looking the opposite way. There’s potential for a sign to be added that’s very similar to the Stitch’s Great Escape sign.

But who really knows at this point.

You can see the gash that’s taken out of the PeopleMover roof from the roundness of the spaceship.

This will have to be removed and smoothed over to keep the straight lines of the land.
