Welcome to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! It’s halfway into January, and it’s still Christmas here. Let’s take a look around.
Work is being done on the 20th Anniversary Photo Frame. From what little view I could get, it looks like it might be replaced with a new frame. No more 20th Anniversary!
Otter exhibit watch 2018 is now “Otter Watch 2019.” Hopefully it doesn’t go into 2020…
It was oddly busy today. The marathon is over and it seems like every one of those 24,000 runners ended up here. Here’s the extended queue for It’s Tough to be a Bug!
We finally found the elusive miniature donkey Animal Ambassadors! You can see our full article on that right over here.
The new fossil badge Wilderness Explorer post finally opened! It looks nice. You can see all our photos of it here.
Meanwhile, over in Pandora: The World of Avatar, a really pretty fog rolled in across the mountains. Actually, I think it was smoke from the Satu’li Canteen’s exhausts, but still, it looked nice.
The Pandora Conservation Initiative’s utility suit walker was out this morning. This is a fun little “show”, as you can ask him questions and he interacts with the audience quite a bit.
If you’re the curious type, you can see a little bit about how they made the suit right here.
The last few times I was in Windtraders, they were selling the Disney PinQuest lanyards right here. Looks like the finally took them out. They were clashing with the theme, which I think someone in management must have finally noticed.
Merchandise
This caught my attention right away. This is a new light-up toy you can get at Windtraders. It’s a Pandoran Wood Sprite!
It lights up when you shake it, and the bottom of it has a bungee-like string so you can suspend it from your hand and make it bounce around.
This could be fun for the kids at night. I imagine it goes well with all the other assorted light-up goodies from Pandora.
The Tsum Tsums for Mickey’s 90th celebration finally showed up. I found these in Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures in Dinoland. Mickey was conspicuously missing, however.
The new Potion Purple line is showing up everywhere across property. You can read all about it here.
Here are just a few fun pins I found. They’re all open-edition.
New pins were really easy to spot for the last few months because they always stood out on the white card backs. However, as you can see, they’re slowly releasing old open-edition pins on the new backs now. My job is that much harder now.
