REVIEW: Epcot International Festival Of The Arts Inspired Seasonal Cupcake At Sunshine Seasons

The 2019 Epcot International Festival Of The Arts kicked off this weekend. While there are many great new food items around the World Showcase food studios, there are also some great offerings around Future World! We found this cute new seasonal cupcake in Sunshine Seasons located inside The Land pavilion.

Seasonal Cupcake – ($5.99)

The cupcake is paint splatter themed and comes with a fondant artists palate and pretzel stick paint brush on top. The paint splatter effect is food coloring splattered over the cupcake and plate. The theming is impressively detailed for a cupcake and it even looks like the “paint brush” has paint dripping down the side of the cupcake. The “artists palate” also has extra food coloring on it to give it a paint-stained feel.

While the cupcake is primarily white in color, it surprisingly tasted like peanut butter frosting! While it added a nice and different flavor to this otherwise pretty basic cupcake, the icing was loaded all the way around the cupcake, on top, and even in the middle. This caused a pretty overpowering peanut butter frosting taste that made it hard to enjoy the actual cake part of the cupcake. One of the most unexpected parts of the cupcake was the pretzel stick which added a salty kick.

The inside was a regular vanilla cupcake with green and blue food coloring for extra pizzazz. While the peanut butter frosting was overpowering, the cake gave a nice break from the sugary overload.

I love these seasonal cupcake offerings and this one is extremely creative and detailed. I’d highly recommend this as a pairing with your next Sunshine Seasons meal!
