Continuing on with our reviews of all the Valentine’s Month at Disneyland treats, we went over to Red Rose Taverne to try the Cherry Mousse.

Cherry Mousse – $5.99

This dessert was supposed to be comprised of dark chocolate ganache and chocolate crunch, red velvet spray with gold dust, and mini heart sprinkles, but we didn’t find any chocolate crunch in ours.

There was a thin layer of chocolate cake topped with a dark chocolate ganache covered in cherry mousse. The cherry mouse was actually our least favorite part of this dessert. It tasted extremely artificial and the consistency of the mousse was weird. It was entirely too airy and lacked any richness or creaminess. The cake on the other hand, was very moist and the ganache was rich and flavorful. Unfortunately, these components were overpowered by the sugariness and artificial flavor of the cherry mousse. This dessert would have been better balanced if it had a lot more cake and ganache and a lot less cherry mousse.

While it wasn’t awful, it definitely wasn’t great. There are so many better options currently available that I have a hard time recommending this one.
