If you’ve ever wandered through the Gate of the Golden Sun and down the Street of Good Fortune in the China Pavilion, you’ve seen all the neat gifts tucked away in the massive shop that is the House of Good Fortune. The shop contains an incredible assortment of goods including house wares, lamps, vases, tea sets, parasols, accessories, and decorative figurines. They also have an adorable collection of panda bear-themed products toward the back of the store… but did you know that they now have Chinese Cotton Candy as well?
You can choose how “extra” you want your cotton candy, given how many layers you want it to have. You can opt for two to five layers, all patterned in floral, butterfly, or heart shapes.
You let the cotton candy artisan know which style you’d like and then they start masterfully weaving your colorful sugary cloud of choice.
He’d make impressions on the cotton candy using a stick dipped in water.
It’s too beautiful to eat!
Ta-dah! It’s an experience in and of itself.
How did it taste? Well, first of all, it was raining. Any moisture in the air will make the cotton threads melt and drip all over your hand. That being said, this is amazing cotton candy. It isn’t as airy as regular cotton candy, but it does have a toothsome denseness to it. It’s hard to explain, really. It also didn’t taste as sweet as, say, cotton candy from Goofy’s Candy Co… but we assure you, we mean that in a good way.
Chinese cotton candy is a brand new offering at the China Pavilion and we highly recommend it for the experience, as well as the giant, beautiful wad of cotton candy that’s yours to devour as you tour World Showcase.
