The Polite Pig, run by local chefs James, Julie, and Brian Petrakis, continues setting a high bar when it comes to quality with three of the newest editions to their menu, including a perfect summer cocktail.

New Menu Items at The Polite Pig

Burnt Ends BBQ Meatballs – $12.00

With meatballs made out of the house brisket, glazed with Layla’s sweet BBQ sauce, and surrounded in cheddar grits, this sharable menu item may not make it around the entire table. The grits are creamy and perfect for dipping an onion crisp in. Oddly enough, the meatballs felt somewhat of a compliment to the grits. Don’t take it the wrong way, these are great meatballs, but they pack extra flavor when cut up and mixed with the rest.

Smoked Turkey BLT – $13.00

With turkey piled high and topped with sweet bbq bacon-onion jam, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and Duke’s mayo, this is an excellent and filling sandwich… but don’t go in expecting any real flavor hints of a classic BLT. While the jam is technically bringing that bacon flavor, it was more of a subtle touch then a smothering. That said, as a turkey sandwich, this excels, especially the combination of the sharp cheddar with the lightly grilled bun.

Bee’s Knees Cocktail – $11.00

Summer’s best drink might have just showed up in the spring. The Bee’s Knees mixes London dry gin, honey, and lemon into a light and fresh concoction. Mildly tart over the usual over-sweet lemonade cocktails, this lets the gin flavors stick out without being overly boozy. It’s perfect for sitting out at Disney Springs and watching people go by.
