It was a dark and gloomy day, but we decided to head out to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and check in on some of the new projects. Since the 30th anniversary right is around the corner, we’re excited to see what’s coming up next.
While visiting Star Wars Launch Bay, we came across some interesting droids. The new PhotoPass camera boxes have been installed, but photographers are still taking the photos for now.
Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy has a new sign. It won’t be much longer before it opens.
We’re patiently waiting for ABC Commissary to finish installing the new self-serve drink stations.
We spotted some wet paint signs. It looks like some of the walls around the Chinese Theatre have been freshly painted.
Keystone Clothiers and Legends of Hollywood are closed for refurbishment.
We’re still devastated by the loss of the Muppets wall.
Merchandise
Pixar Ball Pillow – $26.99
This plush little Pixar Ball pillow was spotted at Municiberg Gifts and Mickey’s of Hollywood.
Loungefly Toy Story Backpacks – $70
You can find the adorable new Toy Story Loungefly backpacks at carts throughout Toy Story Land.
The light-up Slinky Dog toy isn’t new, but we spotted a sign saying it won an award in 2018 for “Best Hard Good Item”. Interesting.
The line for Slinky Dog Dash creeps out of the land.
At least this part of the park is quiet. For now. Soon, this will overflow with people waiting to enter Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Appreciate this while you can.
Lots of advertisements for the new Dumbo movie, in theaters on March 29.
Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction was open and serving. We were told they only open when the park is projected at over 30,000. With Galaxy’s Edge opening this summer, I’m sure we’ll have plenty of time to enjoy a soft serve cone or Mickey bar from Gertie’s.
Thanks for for joining us around Hollywood Studios! Stay tuned for more updates on the many changes coming to Hollywood Studios. What are you looking forward to most?
