Disney has issued a public statement that confirms the Grand Floridian gingerbread house will not return for the 2026 season.
“This holiday season at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Guests can enjoy elegant seasonal décor and festive offerings, along with new miniature gingerbread displays featured throughout the Resort. To help keep the lobby flowing smoothly for Resort Guests, the traditional large gingerbread house will not be offered this year.”
Instead of bringing the fan-favorite gingerbread house back to the resort this year, Disney’s culinary teams will instead create new miniature holiday displays for the resort.
In addition, Disney also confirmed with WDWNT that the display is permanently retired. It will not return in future years.
Last year, there was no gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort due to the lobby remodel.
Guests could still enjoy the annual gingerbread carousel at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, gingerbread Cinderella Castle “Dream Lights” at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the BoardWalk Inn gingerbread house, new and returning gingerbread animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and a small chocolate cabin at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
