It was a busy day at Hollywood Studios this Friday. Many special one-day only offerings took place around the park in honor of International Women’s Day. We also got a look at some construction progress, and some new merchandise around the park!
International Women’s Day
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2019, some one-day only offerings happened around the park. Rey debuted a meet and greet alongside Chewbacca inside Star Wars Launch Bay.
Another one-day only offering was the Women of the Green Army Patrol show. This show alternated with the Green Army Men drum line throughout the day, and featured interactive games like “Sarge Says”.
Uncovered Gondola
An uncovered gondola was spotted testing on the Hollywood Studios line. This gondola was orange and had the ventilation flaps open.

The security checkpoint is coming along just outside the main entrance. Wood panels are starting to be put into place covering the steel lining of the structure.
There was a cherry picker helping workers fit the wood into place.
Some men had a work bench on top of the structure. They were cutting pieces of wood to fit onto the steel (the fresh cut wood smelled great from the ground).
Walking in to the park, a small piece of walkway was walled off due to some underground electrical maintenance. It did, however, create an awkward barrier that guests heading in from the parking lot had to maneuver around.

The sign for Cruz Ramirez’s meet and greet has gone up. Only a few more weeks until Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy opens!

Keystone Clothiers has closed for refurbishment.
The billboards on the back of the Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway show building have been updated. Dumbo and Disneynature Penguins have replaced Mary Poppins Returns and Wreck it Ralph 2.
At Woody’s Lunch Box, the price for a Lunch Box Tart has gone up one dollar, from $3.29 to $4.29

As for merchandise, this cute new Minnie phone case with a cover, card slots, and a kickstand is available in the Dark Room for $34.99. It is only available for iPhone 6,7, and 8 as well as iPhone 6 Plus, 7 Plus, and 8 Plus.

In honor of the new Captain Marvel movie which was just released, there are two new pins which were also spotted in the Dark Room.

Across the way at Celebrity 5 & 10, there’s a new Captain Marvel merchandise stand.
I spotted Rocker Stitch in Rock Around the Shop. Love the hair.
Finally, this cute purple new phone case with a silver bottom half of Mickey’s pants was found in various locations around the park. It has been out at Disneyland for a while now, and i’m really excited to see it make it’s way over to Florida!
