It’s been a while since our last construction update on the upcoming Disney’s Riviera Resort (part of the Disney Vacation Club). The resort is coming along nicely, so let’s see what’s new.
The building as a whole is really starting to take its final shape. The roof is mostly finished, and the outside walls are coming together. Most of the insulation is now covered up. Scaffolding is still everywhere, though.
You can see in this Topolino’s Terrace in this photo, on the top floor. It’s a new restaurant that will accompany the resort.
One of the last pieces of the roof to be put in will be after they disassemble this construction elevator.
A building this big takes a lot of work and a lot of workers.
The wide archways on the first floor will look very nice when finished. You can see some recent renderings of the final product here.
This structure will be part of the pool complex. It’s a water slide!
Here it is from the other side.
Safety first!
The upcoming Disney Skyliner will also have a stop at the Riviera. Construction on the station for it has slowed down a bit, but seeing as it’ll probably be the last one to open, that’s to be expected.
The style of the station should complement the rest of the resort nicely.
This should make for very convenient access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios for those staying here.
Disney’s Riviera Resort is planned to open Fall 2019. Stay with us for future updates as we get closer to the opening!
