We’re steadily moving closer to the projected opening date of Fall 2019 for the Disney Skyliner. With that comes more construction updates, today from Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

This is the current entrance to the pathway to head into Disney’s Pop Century Resort and the Skyliner station, located right behind the Finding Nemo wing of Art of Animation. Pop Century is still accesible from this path, despite the construction.

The parking lot located across the lake from the station is mostly blocked off. This is where the gondolas will travel directly over. This looks to be being used for parts storage, including these giant spools of cables that can seen through the green scrim.

There’s also a peek at some of the gondolas still under wraps, waiting for their turn at testing.

So construction seems to be steadily moving along for the projected Fall opening date. Hopefully this will mean lower temperatures by the time the opening rolls around, as a result making the previously announced passive ventilation and lack of air conditioning a tolerable experience. Other than the temperature concerns, the gondolas and the Disney Skyliner are looking to be an exciting addition to the Walt Disney World transportation lineup!

Stay tuned for more updates!
