We’re over two months into the Sleeping Beauty Castle refurbishment and changes are happening. With no reopening date announced, guests have been anxious to know when the Disneyland Park icon will unveil its shiny new makeover. We’re just as anxious to know, too, so we decided to hop on over to Fantasyland to take a look at how the refurbishment is coming along.

With the Santa Ana winds gone, for the time being, the scrim that was pulled down last week is officially back up. But that’s not the only change to the front side of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The construction walls have been pushed out even further, blocking more of the pathway between the Castle and the Hub.

The same is happening around the back side of Sleeping Beauty Castle. More scrim and walls have gone up around Peter Pan’s Flight queue. And we could hear work being done behind the scrim atop the exterior of the attraction. Guest flow in this area is not the best, especially with the Spring Break crowds. But we’re sure that once refurbishment is complete, this area will allow for a better flow of guests.

Previously, the pathway to Fantasyland on the side of Sleeping Beauty Castle by Snow White’s Wishing Well was closed. And the pathway on the other side of Sleeping Beauty Castle, by Fantasy Faire, remained open. Now, that pathway is closed and guests can once again access Fantasyland by using the pathway by Snow White’s Wishing Well.
