On our latest park walk around Epcot, we decided to check in on the progress of the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster construction.
Since our last update, it doesn’t look like much has changed with the debris in the courtyard in front of the building. You can also still see clear through to the other side.
Work was being done on the red covering that connects the two buildings and will enclose the launch of the coaster. The last time we photographed this tunnel, the red covering didn’t make it all the way up yet, but it looks like they were finishing that off today.
If you peer over from the Monorail station, you can get a peek at the ride track being laid inside. If you can’t tell it apart from the surrounding metal structure, it’s swathed in blue tarp.
That’s quite the incline.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster isn’t scheduled to open until 2021, so there’s still plenty of time for work and progress to be made. The further along they get and the more enclosed the building becomes means we won’t be getting as many peeks into the progress, so we’ll enjoy this insight while it lasts.
The tram guy was saying on Saturday ‘either late 2021 or spring 2022’ before it opens.
