During the opening hours of the Star Wars Celebration Chicago event, we provided you with a first look of the ride vehicle for The Rise of the Resistance attraction at Galaxy’s Edge as well as merchandise previews currently on display. Well, we are happy to report that more interesting details for Galaxy’s Edge are also available at this booth. Upon first entering the booth some concept art is on display that gives us a very exciting look into what we will encounter when the land opens to the public in Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
There are quite a few of these images on display and they all are equally as amazing. A few of us walking around asked if they were available for purchase!
Another portion that was particularly interesting were the “artifacts” on display. These reminded me of museum-type artifacts that you would find at any natural history museum. I am curious as to where artifacts such as these will show up in Batuu.
And then there was this piece. I can’t wait to see Dok-Ondar in person at his Den of Antiquities. Mentioned in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Dok-Ondar is the Ithorian gatekeeper of the black market on Batuu. His shop promises to be filled with treasures from across the galaxy, including holocrons, stone carvings of Jedi warriors, and more rare artifacts.
There are also multiple presentations occurring throughout the weekend. There are multiple merchandise presentations occurring each day. When I asked a Cast Member about this, she indicated that the merchandise would rotate each day from droid merchandise, to toys and apparel as we showed you in an earlier post.
Imagineers will also be on hand to present new details about Galaxy’s edge.
As an added touch, you can also record your own Star Wars story and create your own personalized image that may be displayed within the land when it opens on either coast.
There are also video panels with promotions about both attractions that roll continuously inside the booth. You can also log into your My Disney Account to get more details about Galaxy’s Edge (or perhaps start booking your vacation now!)
The level of detail inside the booth is very impressive. We will continue to provide more details as the days progress and the merchandise changes. What do you think? Does this special preview get you even more excited for Galaxy’s Edge opening in just a short few months?
Stay tuned WDWNT as the Star Wars Celebration Chicago continues and more exciting announcements are sure to be made at the event.
