Disney has announced a huge slew of films for the next 7 (yeah, seven!) years. Earlier this year, Disney obtained 20th Century Fox and with it came a ton of new media content. Let’s break this down and see what we’ve got in store through 2027:

Star Wars

Following The Rise of Skywalker coming out this December, Disney has made it official that we’ll be returning to a galaxy far, far away in 2022. Disney made it clear that this will be the kickoff of a new trilogy which will be released before Christmas every other year beginning in 2022.

Marvel

We already knew we had a standalone Black Widow movie, an adaptation of the Eternals, a Shang-Chi movie, Black Panther 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 on the way. With two movies slated for a 2020 release, Marvel has confirmed some additional untitled films planned for both 2021 and 2022.

Disney Live-Action

Lion King and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil are both slated for a 2019 release, we also have confirmation of Mulan which is slated to hit theaters on March 27th, 2020. Additionally, Cruella is slated for a December 23rd, 2020 release and eight additional untitled live-action films sprinkled throughout 2021 and 2022.

Indiana Jones

Disney has an official release date for Indiana Jones 5 which is slated to hit theaters on July 9th, 2021 after missing its 2019 release.

Artemis Fowl

The young adult adaptation was set to hit theaters in 2019, but has now been pushed to May 29th, 2020.

X-Men

The New Mutants featuring Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones is schedule to hit theaters on April 3rd, 2020 pending no delays.

James Cameron’s AVATAR

Get ready folks because starting on December 17th, 2021 with AVATAR 2 and every Christmas for the next decade, we’ll be making our return to Pandora. The final AVATAR film is set for 2027.
