It’s time to say bye to the divisive Leave A Legacy monoliths at Epcot.

If you haven’t gone to visit your quadrant yet, you’d better do so––and quick, because construction is set to begin this weekend. There’s a lot of work to be done ahead of Epcot’s new entrance project, and Project Gamma is finally revving up, moving up plans to demolish Leave A Legacy monoliths.
As part of the new entry experience coming to Epcot, Leave A Legacy snapshots will be moving into a beautiful setting just outside the park’s gateway in 2020. Work on current Leave A Legacy monolith removal is expected to take place in sections, beginning with the west side first and then moving over to the east side.
As you can see in the original concept art above, changes coming to the Epcot main entrance also include new pathways, sweeping green spaces, and a newly-reimagined fountain. This new design will pay homage to the original park entrance with fresh takes on classic elements. Additional significant redevelopment will begin between Spaceship Earth attraction and the World Showcase Promenade, including the closure of Epcot Character Spot, the FountainView Starbucks, and Club Cool, and the demolition of Innovations West.
My husband and I had our photo and our wedding date put on Leave a Legacy. Sad to see it being demolished but not completely destroyed. We will have to track down our photo to show our daughter. Time flies!
I thought they were moving the Leave a Legacy outside of the entrance?
Just reread and caught the line about moving them. Apologies!
Project Gamma… And it’s going to get bigger and greener?
