Greetings, programs! We’ve got a new look at the construction of the TRON coaster at the Magic Kingdom. Let’s rez in and take a look, shall we?
The big change from our last update is that the supports have gone vertical. These columns will likely support the coaster track that will take guests through the Game Grid when the coaster opens in 2021, in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
The massive cranes are still on site, which means there’s plenty of work still to be done before the coaster boots up in Tomorrowland.
Because of the nature of the project, it’s likely that the coaster track will be installed before the building that will house it is completed.
Work has progressed enough that it’s visible from Storybook Circus in Fantasyland. Slowly but surely, the world of TRON is coming to the Magic Kingdom.
