Blizzard Beach Water Park Closing for Extended Refurbishment in September at Walt Disney World

Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach close every year in the winter for refurbishments during the low weather season where water park demand is low. However, Disney has stated that this refurbishment will include “additional refurbishment work and enhancements” above the normal work.

Stay tuned to WDWNT for updates on the enhanced refurbishment at Blizzard Beach.

  1. Tom did say something was coming up for Blizzard Beach during the portion i watched on the live stream yesterday.

  2. this is about the dumbest time to choose to close a gate. GE opens the week before, Food and Wine will be in full swing, the summer heat and humidity is still present. i get needing an extended closure, but then? really? when you need crowd absorption more than ever?

  3. Nooooo!!!😱😳😭😭 Blizzard Beach is our favourite “rest day” place, and we arrive 18th September 😭

  4. I’ve bought park hopper plus tickets because I wanted to visit Blizzard beach in September. Is it normal to sell tickets and after announce the closure? Would Disney give me some kind of compensation? I’m Brazilian and it’s my first and only visit :(
