It’s always a good time to head to the movies, and a trip to the movies is never complete without some popcorn. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is here to satisfy your popcorn craving with a sweet twist, with the new Cinema Popcorn Caramel Sundae.

This is a dulce de leche ice cream sundae, with the ice cream layered in between mounds of caramel covered popcorn with a caramel syrup drizzle, topped with whipped cream, and even more caramel popcorn. Note that my sundae came with a ring of cookies and cream flavored whipped cream around the top, but this is NOT part of the regular recipe, and my sundae was made in this cup with the cookies and cream whipped cream premade on it by accident, so yours probably won’t include this addition.

This sundae, if you couldn’t tell from the ingredients, is very heavy on the caramel flavoring. There’s also quite a bit of the caramel corn to dig through before I could even get down to the dulce de leche ice cream, between the caramel corn stacked on top of the whipped cream and the caramel corn underneath the whipped cream. There was an excessive amount of caramel corn in this sundae, and it didn’t even add that much of a crunch to the texture, as the corn that I got was quite stale. The ice cream, once I dug down to it, was very smooth and creamy, and my favorite part of this sundae. I would order just this ice cream again, except that it is not advertised on the regular ice cream menu, and is exclusive to this sundae.

This sundae, while I love the theme and how well it fits into All-Star Movies, is a movie that wouldn’t exactly get a rave review. I loved the ice cream individually, but with the excessive amount of stale popcorn to have to work around to get to it, it didn’t seem worth it for the price.

The Cinema Popcorn Caramel Sundae is priced at $6.99 without the souvenir cup, and $9.99 with the cup. It’s available at the World Premiere Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
