PHOTOS: New Security Screening Area In Place at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Monorail Station
For a few weeks now, construction walls have been up around the fourth floor at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, wrapping around to where the resort’s arcade was.
Today, walls are down at the resort, revealing a crisp new security screening area.
If you’re unfamiliar with the process, guests looking to board the monorail at Disney’s Contemporary Resort pass through bag check and security here before being dropped off at the Magic Kingdom, where they no longer have to pass through another security check.
Temporary bag check is currently still in use, but for now, but this new security screening area is now open at bottom of the escalator, right before you go up to the monorail station.
You used to be able to go from the elevators and walk right over to the escalators and up to the monorail, but now these glass walls keep guests from being able to access the area without passing through security first.
It’s nice that they’ve decided to extend arrival enhancements to the neighboring Magic Kingdom resorts as transportation through these can often be a nightmare with delays and makeshift security setups.
