We were at the Magic Kingdom early this morning and noticed some big things happening on the site of TRON Lightcycle Run at the Magic Kingdom.

First, we noticed crew installing something covered in a tarp. We weren’t too sure what was going on at first, but when we checked back later, we saw an additional piece installed.

Now this looks like it could be something.

We decided we needed to investigate a little further, and we’re so glad we did! We’re thrilled to see that this looks like it could be one of the first pieces of themed elements to be installed for the new coaster. As you ride along the track, you pass through numerous of these light-up frames in the dark show building portion of the ride.

It’s still pretty earlier in the construction, but this is a major milestone for sure!

After seeing the previews of the Cast Member costumes and vehicles this weekend, we’re totally ready for TRON to open in 2021. Can we start counting down the days yet? You can check out even more concept art, Cast Member costumes, and the ride vehicle for the attraction in this D23 Expo display post.

TRON Lightcycle Run is set to open just in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. If you aren’t familiar with the attraction, you can watch our POV video of the TRON Lightcycle Power Run from Shanghai Disneyland here:
