Boys and girls of every age, wouldn’t you like to see something strange? Come with us and you will see, brand new desserts for Halloween.
We stopped into Disney’s All-Star Resorts to grab a snack and ended up with four. During our trip to the World Premiere Food Court at All-Star Movies, we found a little something sweet for everyone. Jack’s Hallow-Lime Cupcake, the Queen’s Poison Apple Tart, a Chai Tea Cupcake, and a Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake are now available and they all look amazing.
A tray of desserts fit for the Pumpkin King.
Jack’s Hallow-Lime Cupcake – $5.99
This is Hallow-Lime, this is Hallow-Lime.
Orange and green swirled lime-flavored frosting tops this vanilla cupcake. This is not your typical Disney buttercream, though. It’s more of a whipped cream frosting, with an airy and light taste. This is far from the heavy, sugary buttercream we usually encounter. There’s glitter and sprinkles, and even a white chocolate Jack. A tiny pipette of green lime-flavored “goo” is stuck into the cake.
You can either squeeze the tube and inject the lime flavor into the cupcake, or drizzle it along the top.
The lime flavor frosting is light, but the pipette really adds a lot of tartness to the cupcake. We drizzled the lime across the cupcake, which added a bright lime taste to the dessert. The cake was your basic vanilla flavor, but it wasn’t anything special. We do appreciate the fun little lime “goo” on top. Jack can be found at All-Star Movies, Music, and Sports.
Poison Apple Tart – $5.49
The Queen’s Poison Apple Tart is a lovely little treat. A butter crust is filled with cinnamon spiced apples and topped by a cinnamon panna cotta. Green “poison” icing drips down the apple.
If someone tries to offer you a poison apple tart, you may want to politely decline. The crust and apple filling are delicious, but the top is a huge miss. The panna cotta has absolutely no taste and the texture is overpowering and unnecessary. If you were to take the top part off, the bottom is good, but for $5.49, we shouldn’t be eating half a dessert. The poison apple tart is available from All-Star Sports, Music, and Movies.
Chai Tea Cupcake – $5.99
The Chai Tea Cupcake is channeling all the fall colors and a sugar leaf tops off the whole thing.
The cake basically crumbled into pieces as we tried to cut this one in half. The cake is supposed to be chocolate, but it definitely didn’t taste like the usual chocolate cupcakes we’ve encountered. The frosting has a strong spice taste, which could have been overpowering the chocolate flavor.
The Chai Tea flavor is strong. The cake was a little dry, but the frosting is delicious. There’s a lot more frosting than cake here, though. The cake is even filled with more frosting. This cupcake can only be found at All-Star Movies and Music.
Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake – $5.29
The pumpkin pie cheesecake was the winner of the four desserts, despite being the most unassuming one. The cheesecake is amazing, and covered in chocolate ganache and pumpkin topping.
The base is a plain cheesecake, and all the flavor comes from the topping.
The pumpkin, chocolate, and cheesecake flavors all work together perfectly. This cheesecake can only be found at All-Star Movies and Music.
If you’re looking for a wide variety of Fall-themed desserts, be sure to stop by the All-Star Resorts and pick up one of these new treats. We would strongly suggest the cheesecake. Happy Halloween!
