The new Sunshine Churros carts are now officially open at Disney Springs. Just the other day, we reported on the arrival of the kiosks, but we can now happily announce that they are open. They have an amazing variety of flavors to choose from, too!
They’ve got a wide variety of flavors that might surprise you. You’ve got 9 different churro options! Strawberry Cheesecake and Oreo are considered gourmet churros and will cost you $6.25. The Strawberry Cheesecake churro comes with a dipping sauce and the Oreo has filling, which is why they’re priced higher than the other flavors. The dipped churros are also $6.25, and come with your choice of chocolate or Nutella dipping sauce on the side. The classic churros advertised are $5.25, but they actually have even more flavors than the sign offers.
Salted Caramel, Strawberry Cheesecake, Original Cinnamon, Apple Cinnamon, Cherry Limeade, Fruity Pebbles, Peach Mango, Watermelon, and Oreo options are available. Let’s do this.
We’ve got a bundle of churros, so let’s take advantage of it.
That’s a bouquet of churros worthy of a proposal, for sure.
When placing an order for a flavored churro, the cast member will take the churro and roll it in a flavored coating of your choice. They’re super sticky and sugary, so be prepared with extra napkins.
Strawberry Cheesecake with Cream Cheese Dipping Sauce – $6.25
The strawberry cheesecake is one of the “gourmet” flavors and does cost extra, but comes with the dipping sauce. There is plenty of cream cheese frosting and it adds a lot of flavor to the strawberry churro. This one was delicious and one of our favorites.
Oreo Churro – $6.25
The Oreo churro was noticeably smaller than the other 8, but it also comes stuffed. The chocolate cookie outside and cream inside made this another favorite.
Watermelon Churro – $5.25
The watermelon flavor was very sweet, and the churro tastes like it was dipped in candy. This really wasn’t our style, but we agreed that other people will really enjoy the taste.
Fruity Pebbles – $5.25
If you look closely, you can see the multi-colored coating on this churro. This had a nice fruit taste to it, without the sour and tart candy flavors on some of the others. We were slightly disappointed this didn’t have a little more flavor to it, but still a solid choice.
Salted Caramel – $5.25
After all the wild flavors, something more subtle like Salted Caramel just doesn’t stand out. We enjoyed this one dipped in Nutella, though!
Original Cinnamon – $5.25
If you’re a fan of the original churros in the park, this is your classic cinammon churro, only better. Don’t forget you can add Nutella or Chocolate dipping sauces!
Cherry Limeade – $5.25
This one had a super tart taste to it. We were really surprised by the sour taste. This is another one that wasn’t really appealing to us, but we think others will a more adventurous side would like.
Apple Cinnamon – $5.25
Apple Cinnamon was good and is a great flavor to enjoy in the Fall.
Peach Mango – $5.25
Peach Mango was another one with a sweet, candy-like taste. It had a nice citrus type of flavor, that was just a little tart, but mostly sweet. This is another unique flavor that’s worth a try!
These churros were actually much better than the ones you can find in the park. We did have to wait a few minutes for them to cook fresh ones to complete our order, but we were impressed by how soft these churros were. Even after a good amount of snacking time had passed, these were still incredibly fresh. We would suggest the strawberry cheesecake or Oreo churros, but you really can’t go wrong with any of them. They will leave you a sticky, sugary coated mess, but otherwise, these were great. Sunshine Churros currently has 2 locations at Disney Springs. You can find them near World of Disney or on the West Side by DisneyStyle. If you’re a fan of churros, hurry down to Disney Springs and grab one of these delicious snacks!
