There’s a whole mass of news coming from Tokyo Disney Resort this week! First the new Christmas food items were revealed for both Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. Now, the Oriental Land Company has officially announced that the Tokyo Disneyland expansion featuring The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, The Happy Ride with Baymax, Minnie’s Style Studio, and the Fantasyland Forest Theater will all open to the public on April 15, 2020! Incidentally, that’s also Tokyo Disneyland’s 37th birthday.
In today’s press release, here’s what the Oriental Land Company had to say about the village area:
“New Fantasyland” includes an area themed to the popular Disney film Beauty and the Beast. From Maurice’s Cottage (Disney FASTPASS® Ticketing) at the entrance, to Gaston’s fountain, and the village restaurants and shops, Guests can immerse themselves in the world of the film as they enjoy the ambience of Belle’s village. Towering above the forest is Beauty and the Beast Castle which houses Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, an attraction where Guests follow Belle and Beast on a romantic musical adventure in vehicles that dance in rhythm to the animated film’s well-known music.
Leaving the area themed to Beauty and the Beast and plunging deeper into the forest, Guests will find Fantasyland Forest Theatre, the first full-scale indoor theater at Tokyo Disneyland with live entertainment featuring the Disney Friends.
In addition, there were other details regarding Minnie’s Style Studio and The Happy Ride with Baymax
The Happy Ride with Baymax, where Guests can join their own personal healthcare companion for an exciting ride that swings them unpredictably round and round, will open in Tomorrowland along with a shop specializing in popcorn.
In Toontown, Guests can meet Minnie Mouse in person at the new Disney Character greeting facility, Minnie’s Style Studio. With over three years of construction and a total investment of about 75 billion Japanese yen, the largest redevelopment in the history of Tokyo Disneyland promises to further enchant Guests with an array of brand-new experiences. April 15, 2020 marks the beginning of a new era for Tokyo Disneyland.
Good guy Tokyo Disney Resort announces expansions, and then opens them exactly when was hinted for years and with 7 months advance notice an exact date. Meanwhile the opening dates for Galaxy’s Edge, Mickey’s Runaway Railway, Ratatouille, Harmonius fluctuate wildly and can change with 4 months notice at the resort that requires the most advance planning. Way to go WDW!
I don’t know if I’m lucky or cursed…lol. We’ve booked and made plans to spend 4 full days at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea from April 12th to the ……15th!! Fingers crossed that we can explore the new land and experience the attractions.
We are at Tokyo Disney the week prior until Sunday, looks like I need to look into extending the trip!
Jason, did you make your reservations through an official Disney hotel? We did. But we’re thinking about making reservations through the official Disney website as we booked the official hotel via Expedia.
Very excited for this, I saw the video of the animatronics from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJtNxaTwgz0&t=36s
and I have been looking forward to it every since. So many good things happening in Japan next year! Nintendo amusement, Olympic, and new rides at Tokyo Disneyland!
