Here we are again at Disney’s Animal Kingdom bright and early for another trip around to see what’s been happening inside the park!
Since it happened to be Thursday, that meant it was time for some new limited edition pin releases. Here at Animal Kingdom, they can be found at the Discovery Trading Company on Discovery Island. That would be the first store on your right-hand side when approaching the Tree of Life.
These were today’s three new pin releases:
Winnie the Pooh Eeyore Fall 2019 – $16.99
Magic of Honor 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea – $17.99
Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween Countdown – $29.99
Heading out of the store, we stopped to check out the Tree of Life, always a must-do when visiting Animal Kingdom.
To the left of the Tree of Life, construction walls remain in place around the Winged Encounters stage. There used to be a perching area for the Macaws in this area.
The side of the construction wall closest to the Tree of Life is covered with scrim rather than wood.
The crowd levels three hours after park opening were very minimal. This was around 10:00 AM. There was also a film shoot of some kind happening in the Dino-Rama area in Dinoland USA.
Primeval Whirl is still at a standstill despite all the testing that took place last week.
There are some new, re-imagined Guest Experience Team podiums scattered around the park today. Look for these to also change in the other parks. This one is in Asia.
Here is Africa’s new podium.
Lastly, the new Discovery Island podium.
The Gibbons over near Kali River Rapids in Asia were unusually quiet this morning, but very active!
Heading into Pandora, we stopped to appreciate the detail that goes into everything for the sake of theming. This even includes something as simple as a lamp post.
Pandora entrance sign reminiscent of our own national parks.
The floating mountains on Pandora never get old. Such an amazing sight to see!
Inside Windtraders, the main merchandise location on Pandora, they recently moved the Neytiri bust statue over to the other side of the store.
These are the Pandora Drummers – Swotu Way… This show is one and done for me. Neat idea, but loud and annoying after about ten seconds.
Before heading out for the day, we took a stroll around the Tree of Life. There are countless animals carved into its trunk, it’s a fun game to try and find as many as you can.
At the end of the trail around the tree, there were a few ring-tailed lemurs chilling in the shade.
That wraps up another trip to Animal Kingdom, thanks for coming along and keep an eye out for the next park photo report from WDWNT!
How’d you get so close to the tree of life? We were trying to find a way closer, closest we got as by the exit to a bugs life
